Amy Schumer who was born on June 1, 1981 is a stand-up comedian. She placed on 2nd on Comedy Central's Reality Bites Back and 4th on Last Comic Standing Season of NBC which is an American television network and former radio network headquartered in the GE Building.
When she was a child, she would make her own characters like fortune teller Madame Lavitsky. When she was in high school, she took part in theater, performing Gretl in "The Sound of Music" and playing as Molly in "Annie". In addition, she played volleyball. This stand-up comedian was voted "Teacher's Worst Nightmare" and "Class Clown" at the time in her senior. Graduating from South Side High Scholl in 1999, she received a BA in theater at Towson University. Furthermore, she received another degree from the William Esper Studio.
After graduation, Schumer moved to New York City to pursue her career as an actress. She tended bar and waited table in concurrence with auditioning for various roles. She was in the role of a young woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer in the off-broadway Show Keeping A Breast. Actually, Schumer started to work as a stand-up comedian on June 1, 2004. She performed at Gotham Comedy Club.
Schumer admires many comedians including Louis CK, Dave Attell, Jim Norton, Bill Burr, Wendy Liebman, Sarah Silverman, Ellen DeGenres, and Margaret Cho.
No female comic except Schumer has ever perform Stand-up on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and the Ellen DeGeneres show. Her first Comedy Central Presents special aired at 11:30 PM EST on April 2nd, 2010.
