Life was not always full of glamor and glitz for some of Hollywood’s actresses, actors and singers. Even the biggest stars in the world did not just jump right into superstardom from birth. Like the rest of us, they had to work hard to make ends meet before they were famous and rich. From working at gas stations to cleaning chicken coops, these super hot celebrities had their fair share of odd first jobs.
Check out the big stars who once held down jobs that range from mildly surprising to absolutely ridiculous.
1. Megan Fox
When she was a teenager, “Transformers” beauty Megan Fox worked at a smoothie shop where she was required to cover up her legendary hotness and wear a giant banana costume. She was forced to sport the suit to attract customers to the shop in Florida.
2. Julia Roberts
Before she became a “Pretty Woman,” Julia Roberts was scooping ice cream at Baskin Robbins to make ends meet and worked at an Athlete's Foot shoe store while also taking acting classes.
3. Jennifer Aniston
Before shining as a big star in Hollywood, Jennifer Aniston had a horrible job as she made her allowance as a kid cleaning toilets. However, that wasn't her only early job. The “Horrible Boss” actress also worked as a telemarketer and bike messenger to support herself in New York City when she was 19.
4. Tom Cruise
Tom Cruise is one of the biggest names in Hollywood but he was once a bellhop for the rich and famous.
Madonna has been an international superstar for decades now but few people know that she used to sell pastries at Dunkin' Donuts at New York's Times Square. The star reportedly got fired for squirting jelly filling all over customers. She then danced and modeled for a bit before singing her way to the top.
6. Brad Pitt
Back when he was first starting out in Hollywood, Brad Pitt had two interesting jobs. His first employer was El Pollo Loco and he had to dress up in a chicken costume, hand out flyers, and attract customers to the restaurant. His second job was a limo driver for a strip-o-gram service.
7. Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey did a series of odd jobs before singing her way to fame. The beautiful songstress once worked as a waitress and a coat/hat checker. She also swept up hair at a salon while trying to launch her music career.
8. Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp worked as a salesman and he sold ballpoint pens before he started booking big-time Hollywood gigs.
9. Orlando Bloom
Orlando Bloom got his first job when he was 13. He was a clay trapper at a pigeon shooting range, loading and aiming clay discs used as targets for shooters.
10. Gwen Stefani
During her senior year in high school, Gwen Stefani worked behind the counter at a Dairy Queen in her hometown of Orange County, California, where she did things like cleaning floors.
