Cristiano Ronaldo will come back to the soccer field to play for Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League last-16 first leg clash against Schalke in Gelsenkirchen on Wednesday (February 26, 2014). The Ballon d’Or-winner will return to action after serving a three-match domestic ban he got at the new San Mamés stadium earlier this month. Cristiano Ronaldo was shown a red card in the 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao after getting in Ander Iturraspe’s face and making a dismissive gesture at the ref. Despite missing the last three Spanish league matches due to suspension, the 29-year-old sensation is still the top scorer in La Liga with 22 goals. Meanwhile, his team Real Madrid also played pretty well in his absence. Now, a "frustrated" Cristiano Ronaldo is highly motivated and eager for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Schalke. “He’s really wanted to play, he was not happy about not being able to do so,” Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said. “He’s done very well in training. He is in optimal physical and mental shape.”
