Inaugurated on 7 May 2008, Dmitry Medvedev is the current President of Russian Federation. By wining 71.25% of the popular vote in the presidential election held on 2 March 2008, Medvedev becomes the third president of Russia preceded by Vladimir Putin. During his term, he had made significant changes with a view to better people’s life such as the reformation of civil service system between 2009 and 2013. By the end of June, he became to first Russian Presidents to visit the Jewish Autonomous Region in Russia’s Far East and its capital city of Birobidjan. Here he had a lot of social activities with the local residents. One of the most remarkable activities is his visit to the General Register Office where he posed with wedded couples.
