Joe Bodolai: Cause of Death is a Suicide, Police Say

A terrible tragedy has shaken the world of entertainment as former "Saturday Night Live" staff writer Joe Bodolai who co-wrote the first draft of the movie "Wayne's World" with Mike Myers died after having committed suicide in a Hollywood hotel room, the Los Angeles coroner’s office. Bodolai is survived by his ex-wife named Bianca Roberts Bodolai and their sons.

It was reported that a cleaning crew at an L.A. hotel discovered Joe Bodolai’s body in a hotel on the 1700 block of Whitley Avenue at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2011. According to law enforcement sources, before Joe Bodolai’s death, he had been staying at the hotel for more than a week. Furthermore, Bodolai had posted what appears to be a suicide note on his blog on December 23, 2011 titled, "If This Was Your Last Day Alive What Would You Do?" Besides writing on 20 episodes of “Saturday Night Live” in 1981 and 1982, Joe Bodolai was the TV producer for 20 episodes of “The Kids in the Hall” Canadian sketch comedy troupe in the early 1990s.
