Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, was spotted arriving at the National Portrait Gallery in London, England on Friday morning (January 11, 2013). The mother-to-be, who is believed to be 12 weeks pregnant, was accompanied by her husband Prince William during the visit. Kate Middleton showed off her impeccable sense of style in an elegant burgundy chiffon dress from Whistles that she paired with trusty black court shoes. Meanwhile, her hubby Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, looked great in his dapper suit. The parents-to-be seemed to be happy and comfortable as they visited the gallery together for the official unveiling of a new portrait of Kate. The frontal-view oil painting was produced by Scottish artist Paul Emsley, also painted South Africa's Nelson Mandela in his photographic style. Kate Middleton was completely impressed by the work, saying: "I thought it was brilliant. It's just amazing. Absolutely brilliant." Prince William also praised it, saying, "It's beautiful, it's absolutely beautiful." However, shortly after the portrait was unveiled, critics began grousing. There has been widespread criticism of the painting saying that Kate Middleton’s eyes looked dead, her mouth looked clenched and the painting made the Duchess look older than her 31 years.
