Rapper and actor Heavy D (Dwight Arrington Myers), the "overweight lover" of hip-hop, who is the former leader of the hip-hop group Heavy D and the Boyz died Tuesday in the emergency room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles at the age of 44. Heavy D was known as a celebrity who had an influential role in shaping rap music in the late '80s and early '90s.
It has been reported that the music star, who rose to fame in the 1990s, had troubles after collapsing and laying on the walkway outside his home in Beverly Hills. The singer was found conscious and communicative but had difficulty breathing. He was immediately brought to a hospital, but he couldn’t live longer and was pronounced dead. The Los Angeles County coroner's office is investigating his death.
According to Foxnews, Beverly Hills police officers discovered no signs of foul play and they believed that the death of Heavy D is medically related. An official of the Beverly Hills police said that Heavy D was coming back home after going shopping. He couldn’t breathe usually while he was walking into his condominium building. He added that Heavy D “was being assisted up to his apartment by building personnel when he collapsed in an exterior hallway".
