Girl band Little Mix have won the 2011 X Factor, becoming the first band ever to win the ITV talent show. The four girls Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall won the public vote and beat finalist Marcus Collins, 23, after a series of amazing performances on the dramatic final at Wembley Arena in north London
Little Mix gave audiences stunning performance of various powerful songs, which led them to the victory. The girls started their night with En Vogue’s Don’t Let Go. They continued to please people with a Christmassy Silent Night, before singing the winner’s single Cannonball, by Damien Rice.
Little Mix’s girls burst into tears when they talked about their delight in receiving the title. Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 19, said: “Oh my gosh, wow.” Perrie Edwards, 18, also said: "Oh my gosh, that's insane." Jesy Nelson, 20, said: "Oh my God, this is never going to sink in. We can't thank the public enough for picking up the phone." And Jade Thirlwall, 18, showed off her delight saying “I'm so grateful. Thank you for everybody who voted.”
All the members of Little Mix came to The X Factor as solo artists. The four girls entered the final audition, but they were rejected before having the chance to perform at Judges’ houses. While the girls were crying, they were called back on stage and were given the chance to return the competition and formed a girl superband.
