At least 21 people were killed and 141 injured in three near simultaneous explosions that hit business capital of Mumbai, India during rush hour on Wednesday, July 13, 2011.

According to Prithviraj Chavan, chief minister of Maharashtra state, the blasts happened at Zaveri bazaar, Dadar Kabootar khana, and around Opera House between 6:50 p.m. and 7:04 p.m. local time (9:20 to 9:34 a.m. ET).

The bomb attacks are the most bloody since November 2008, when a three-day coordinated raid launched by 10 gunmen left 116 dead.

After the bombings, blood-covered bodies laid on Mumbai streets that were filled with black smoke and dismembered while others carried the wounded to taxis or gathered around the dead scenes to hear police questioning witnesses.
