It is nine years since the September 11 terrorist attacks on World Trade Centre in New York occurred; however, the images of the attack seem to have never been the thing of the past. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda upon the United States on September 11th, 2001. Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City collapsed within two hours, destroying nearby buildings and damaging others.
Last Saturday, thousands of people were reported to gather on Ground Zero of New York City to honor victims of the attacks. During the annual ceremony, family members of victims place roses in the reflecting pool, bring along their pictures and pray in solemn. In addition, this year’s anniversary witnesses the participation of New York Governor David Paterson, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg as well as New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
