Saint Patrick’s Day across the Globe

in Society

Saint Patrick's Day is an annual holiday which is celebrated on 17 March. The holiday is named after Saint Patrick, the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland. The color blue (green at the present) is originally associated with Saint Patrick who used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish. Nowadays, the use of shamrock images on clothes and designs has become a common feature of the day. On this holiday, people enjoy parades in cities and small towns, "wearing of the green", music and songs, and activities for children like crafts and coloring.

Let's have a look at the parades and events worldwide to celebrate St Patrick's Day 2010.
