"We Bought A Zoo" Review

"We Bought a Zoo" is a comedy movie directed by Cameron Crowe starring Matt Damon, Thomas Haden Church, Colin Ford, Scarlett Johansson, Desi Lydic, Patrick Fugit, and Elle Fanning. The film is based on a true story, a windowed father named Benjamin Mee (Matt Damon) spent his life savings to buy a dilapidated zoo, replete with 200 exotic animals facing destruction, in the English countryside. Facing enormous difficulties, he and his children, along with a small but loyal staff, work to get the zoo re-opened.

"We Bought a Zoo" was released on December 23, 2011 and debuted with $3 million on the first day.

In May 2010, Cameron Crowe agreed to direct the 20th Century Fox adaptation of Benjamin Mee's memoir We Bought a Zoo, and began rewriting the script originally written by Aline Brosh McKenna.

In this movie, Bejamin Mee who used to be an adventure journalist lost his enthusiasim for his work after his wife’s death. He spent his life savings to buy Dartmoor Zoological Park, a dilapidated zoo in hoping of a fresh start. Facing a lot of difficulties to raise 200 exotic animals, he and his two children managed to reopen the zoo.
