Early July, government officials of Hulli County were criticized by Chinese netizens because of the “too fake” picture. According to a source, on June 26, several county leaders went out to inspect a new road and there was an accompanying worker taking some photos of the record. But before posting on the website, the worker decided to crop the leaders onto a different background because the original background did not look good. The Huili County Government issued an apology afterwards but this picture is considered as one of the worst photoshop disasters in Internet history.

North Korea news service KNCA released a picture of severe flood near Taedong River in July. However it was identified as a doctored photo. We can recognize easily that clothes of people in this image were not wet at all. The Associated Press (AP) said “The content of this image has been digitally altered and does not accurately reflect the scene." Some experts even said that North Korea exaggerated the effects of the flood to draw foreign aids.
