One Direction heartthrobs Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles were spotted attending a press conference at the Ritz Carlton Tokyo in Japan on Friday (January 18, 2013). The talented stars were joined by actress Maki Horikita at the event, where the boys showed up to promote their second album “Take Me Home.” Self-confessed bad boy Zayn Malik immediately grabbed all the attention with his new longer hairstyle as he hit the press conference. The “Kiss You” singer ditched his signature, sky-high coiffe for a choppy straight cut, which came as a surprise to his fans. Zayn Malik, who has become well known for his gravity-defying quiff over the past year or so, previously wore his hair in a high quiff with a blonde streak. Also, the Bradford-born heartthrob once wore an extreme short back and sides, with the rest swept straight up as well as had his hair in a short, flat style back in 2010 when he took to the stage at the X Factor.
Zayn Malik reveals his new hairstyle at One Direction’s press conference at the Ritz Carlton Tokyo on January 18, 2013. His new look comes just in time for his band’s upcoming “Take Me Home” tour, which officially kicks off with a pair of performances in Tokyo on Jan. 18 and 19.
Zayn Malik’s new haircut, which features more of a shaggy look than his usual up-do, comes as a surprise to his fans at the event.
The “What Makes You Beautiful” singer keeps his look simple with jeans, a red plaid shirt and a plain white t-shirt. The star completes his appearance with his new longer hairstyle.
Zayn Malik, who appears extremely uncomfortable on the stage for battling with his stomach during the press conference, looks much younger with his new hair.
Zayn Malik seems to be in good spirits as he poses for the cameras.
